2011 / 2012 / 2013 Girls End Of Season Blitz

The Clontarf FC girls 2011, 2012 and 2013 football teams participated in a highly anticipated end-of-season blitz. The tournament took place on pitch 17 in St. Anne's Park. and the pitches were in amazing condition, freshly cut and under a canopy of wonderful sunshine. This event was a spectacular culmination of the season, and one that the players, coaches and fans look forward to each year.

A total of 57 girls from our U11, U12, and U13 teams took part in this years tournament. The matches were 7 a side with a total of 8 teams competing.

Match Highlights

The girls delivered exceptional performances throughout the tournament. The matches were filled with remarkable saves, precise passing, and outstanding shooting, demonstrating the high level of skill and dedication among the players involved. The level of performances in each game was amazing,  with non-stop battling and determination evident in every close fought match.

The Final Match

The tournament reached its climax with a tightly contested final match between the Croatia and Portugal teams. Both teams displayed extraordinary talent and resilience, making it a thrilling encounter for spectators. The game was dominated by strong defending and both keepers pulled off lots of great saves, but ultimately, Croatia were the side that got the all important winner and emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win, securing the tournament win.

The sunny weather contributed significantly to the enjoyment of the event, for all involved, and the Families and friends gathered to support the players, creating a really lively atmosphere. The tournament was not only a competitive sporting event but also a fun-filled social occasion, with plenty of laughter and enjoyment shared among participants and spectators alike.

Post-Tournament Celebrations

Following the final whistle, the festivities continued with an array of treats for the girls and everyone was presented with their medals and trophies. This gesture added a delightful touch to the morning, ensuring all involved were celebrated for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. The treats provided a perfect ending to a fantastic day.

Thanks to all the team coaches involved, the end-of-season blitz was a resounding success. The event highlighted the talent we have in our girls teams across all 3 age groups, while also providing an opportunity to bring our different age group teams together. It was a fitting conclusion to the season, celebrating the achievements and development of the teams. The tournament not only showcased the skills of the players but also reinforced the strong sense of community and the passion for football within Clontarf FC.
