Clontarf U14 Win in SFAI National Cup 4th Round

Padraig and Ultans U14s welcomed Cherry Orchard to Woodside on Sunday December 3rd, in the 4th round of the SFAI National Cup.

This was the final Dublin round with only DDSL teams involved and the winner progressed in to the National phase of the competition which starts in February 2024

The game was played in a really great spirit with both teams playing some great football. It was an early afternoon kick-off and even though the Woodside pitch was a little soft it was in good condition for a proper winter football match.

The game finished at full time 1-1 with the Clontarf goal being scored by Derin, but having brought all 5 subs in to finish out extra time, Clontarf scored the decisive winning goal, scored by Dylan to clinch the tie in extra time.

It was great to see so many from the Clontarf Football community at the game with lots of parents, coaches and players from our 42 other teams out to support and cheer on the lads.

The team coach Padraig Whelton thanked everyone for their support and said "it really made a difference to the lads, in extra time especially" We expect to see an even bigger crowd support the lads in the next round, early next year, home or away.
