Our Club Football for all team took part in their first football festival on Saturday June 15th 2024, when they attended the FAI's Football For All Festival at The National Sports Campus in Abbotstown.
TWENTY clubs from around the country took part in a wonderful Football For All Event.
The clubs taking part were Bailieboro Celtic, Ballymackey FC, Bohemian Football Club, Castle Villa AFC, Castleknock Celtic, East Meath United, Enfield Celtic, Evergreen FC, Clontarf FC, Glasnevin FC, Knocklyon United, Inchicore Athletic, Granada FC, Lourdes Celtic, Monaghan United, Mucklagh BGFC, Portlaoise AFC, St John Bosco FC, Swords Celtic FC.
Played across several age groups there was lots of exciting action and thrills to keep the sizeable attendance cheering and encouraging the participants throughout.
Supported by an enthusiastic cohort of FAI CDO and RDOs staff and supervised by FAI Football For All Programme Co-ordinator Paddy O'Reilly, the event was run off in a thoroughly professional manner and the smiles on the faces of the players gave ample testimony to the massive enjoyment they all derived from it.
The FAI's Director of Grassroots, Ger McDermott attended and apart from presenting lots of medals - also high-fived all the recipients while FAI Development Officer Marc Kenny played his part as a referee and a very willing wheel-chair pusher throughout!
All the FAI staff were excellent in delivering the event and no one left without a cherished FAI medal around their neck.
The FAI Development Officer staff also included Christy McElligott, David Rake, Paul Whelan, Neil Keoghan, Brendan Corish, Sean Moore, Cameron Molloy Moules and Glenn Kelly.
Our team had great support on the day including our club chairman, John and our Football for all coaches, Conor and Eoghan. A big thank you to them and all the family and friends of the players who came along on the day to cheer the team on.
