U16 A DDSL Neville Cup Final Winners
Our U16As won the Neville Cup in the AUL complex, beating St Francis by a scoreline of 3-1.
Dylan Shore put Clontarf 1-0 ahead after just 2 minutes. Despite the early lead, St Francis regrouped and defended resolutely, ensuring the score remained 1-0 at half-time. The second half saw a rejuvenated Clontarf side enter the pitch after some insightful instruction from the coaches, with Man of the Match Luke Power scoring Clontarf's second goal early on. This goal gave the team a boost, and they took control of the game from that point forward. Michael O'Donovan added a third goal with a clinical finish, and Clontarf had several other chances to extend their lead, but just couldn't break down the St. Francis defence or find a way past their keeper to score a fourth. A late consolation goal for St Francis couldn't take away from the dominant performance by Clontarf, who displayed excellent teamwork and determination throughout the match. This brilliant victory by the boys ensures they remain unbeaten for the season, showcasing their strength and cohesion as a team.
